How to Share device on Hik-Connect app

If you want to let a family member, friend, or team member view your security cameras, you can easily share device access through the Hik‑Connect app.


Step-by-Step Instructions

📱 From the Primary (Admin) Account

  1. Open the Hik‑Connect App
    Log in to the account that originally added the device.

  2. Tap “Applications” at the Bottom Menu
    Then select “Sharing”.

  3. Tap “Share Device”
    Tap "Share with User". The person you are sharing it with must have the Hik-Connect App downloaded and their account created.

  4. Enter the Recipient’s Info and tap Next. 
    You can share with someone by:

    • Their Hik-Connect username

    • Their email or phone number used to register with Hik‑Connect

  5. Set Permissions
    Choose what the user can access:

    • ✅ Live View

    • ✅ Playback

    • ✅ PTZ Control

    • ✅ Alarm Notifications

  6. Tap OK 
    Tap OK . The recipient will get a notification.


👤 For the Recipient

  1. Log in to the Hik‑Connect App
    Use the account you were shared with.

  2. Accept the Share Notification
    A popup or notification will prompt you to accept the shared device.

  3. Start Viewing
    Once accepted, the shared device will appear in your device list.


⚠️ Notes

  • Only the admin account (owner) can share devices.

  • Both users must be using the same region/server (e.g., USA).

  • The shared user must have a registered Hik‑Connect account.
