How to Set Up Motion Detection with Alarm Sound & Flashing Lights (UNV-Link App)

With the UNV-Link app, you can configure your Uniview camera to detect motion and trigger alarms such as custom sounds, flashing lights, and mobile notifications—enhancing your surveillance system's deterrence and responsiveness.

✅ Step-by-Step Setup Guide

Launch the app and log in.

2. Access Device Settings

From the Home screen or Live View, tap the gear icon (⚙️) next to your camera or recorder.

3. Navigate to Alarm Settings

Go to:
Settings → Alarm Settings → Alarm Detection


🏃 Enable Motion Detection

  1. Tap Motion Detection

  2. Adjust the detection area

    • Use the brush icon to draw areas

    • Use the eraser to remove parts of the zone

  3. Set Detection Time

    • Choose All-Day or Custom Schedule

  4. Set Sensitivity

    • Choose High, Medium, or Low

  5. Enable Alarm Snapshot (optional) to capture an image when motion is detected

📌 Note: Settings made in the app will override device-side configurations.


🔊 Add Custom Alarm Sound (If Supported)

  1. Go to Settings → Alarm Settings → Customize Alarm Sound

  2. Choose from:

    • Text-to-Speech: Type a phrase that gets converted to audio

    • Voice Recording: Record a short 6-second audio alert

  3. Save your chosen sound

  4. Go back to Alarm Detection, enable:

    • Alarm Sound: On

    • Choose the saved sound

    • Set a linkage mode (Day/Night or custom time)


💡 Enable Flashing Light (If Supported)

  1. In Alarm Detection, scroll to Flashing Light

  2. Enable it and select:

    • Linkage mode (e.g., Day/Night or Custom Schedule)

  3. Light will flash when motion is detected within the set time


🔔 Enable Push Notifications

  1. Go to Settings → Allow Alarm Notifications

  2. Turn on Receive Alarm Messages

  3. On your phone, go to System Settings → Notifications → UNV-Link App and enable alerts


✅ Test Your Setup

  • Walk in front of the camera

  • Check that your custom sound plays and light flashes

  • Confirm that you receive a notification on your phone
