Adding a New User (card/fob)

Adding a New User (card/fob)

  1. From the top menu, go to Access → Users.

  2. Click Create (or Add) to open a new user form.

  3. Enter the person’s First Name and Last Name. Adding a unit number or note in the name helps you find them later (e.g., “Smith – Unit 204”).

  4. Scroll to the Cards section and enter the card / fob number (see the important note below about which number to enter).

  5. Assign the user to the correct Access Level (this decides which doors they can open and when). A user with no access level assigned will not be able to open any door.

  6. Click Save. Then have the person tap their card / fob at a reader to confirm it works.

NotesImportant — which card number to enter: At this property the system expects a converted number, not the number printed on the card. Add 327680 to the printed card number and enter that total. Example: a card printed 1234 is entered as 328914 (327680 + 1234). If you’re ever unsure, HDSS can confirm the correct number or add the user for you.
